Honoree Spike Lee attends the 46th NAACP Image Awards
Some of the biggest names in film, television and music were in attendance at the annual NAACP Image Awards where veteran filmmaker Spike Lee and music mogul Clive Davis were honored. Will Smith, Common, Angela Bassett, Laurence Fishburne, Tracee Ellis Ross, Larenz Tate, Kerry Washington, David Oyelowo, Octavia Spencer, Taraji P. Henson, Uzo Aduba, Quvenzhané Wallis and Gabrielle Union were just some of the many celebrities who attended the ceremony which was hosted by Anthony Anderson.

NAACP President Cornell William Brooks presented the President’s Award to Spike Lee and Russell Simmons presented the NAACP Vanguard Award to Clive Davis. “Selma,” “How to Get Away With Murder,” “Black-ish” earned top honors and Taraji P. Henson took home two prizes for Actress in a Motion Picture (“No Good Deed”) and Entertainer of the Year. For the movie ‘Belle’, Misan Sagay was recognized for writing the screenplay. The event celebrates the outstanding achievements and performances of people of color in the arts (television, recording, literature, motion picture, writing, and directing), as well as those individuals or groups who promote social justice through their creative endeavors. Belle received five total nominations, including for Outstanding Motion Picture.

Now in its 46th year, the award show celebrates the accomplishments of people of color in the fields of television, music, literature and film, and also honors individuals or groups who promote social justice through creative endeavors.
The individual winners are as follows:
- Entertainer of the Year: Taraji P. Henson
- Outstanding Motion Picture: Selma

Outstanding Comedy Series: Black-ish
