“We are actually shooting the video right now,” says the singer, songwriter, and actor who is best known for the 1993 hit film ‘Cool Runnings.’ Leon is prepping the release of his forthcoming single titled “Love is a Beautiful Thing.”
The track, which he plans to release this summer will feature the multi-talented artist along with his award winning band Leon and The Peoples. Leon, who balances his array of talent between music and movies also has several films slated for release this year including “Soul Ties” which is based on the book of the same name by Tee Austin.
“It is a drama about a young girl growing up in the South, and how her relationship with her parents affect her relationships with men. I also just wrapped shooting a romantic drama called “And Then There Was You,” adds the actor who had fans and critics buzzing with his provocative turn in 20th Century’s Fox much talked about thriller “Cover” directed by Bill Duke.
With the upcoming anniversary of the “Cool Runnings,” a film based on the true story of the first Jamaican bobsled team trying to make it to the winter Olympics, Leon is also working in conjunction with SunFest, one of the largest waterfront music and arts festival to start up an annual film festival.
“We are starting a film festival in Montego Bay which will be launched next year in conjunction with Wayne Jobson and the people from SunFest. It’s the 20th anniversary of ‘Cool Runnings’ which is the largest grossing movie in the history of Jamaica so it seemed to make sense to launch something in that realm.”
