John Olajide delivers first all-University commencement address at UTD

Founder and CEO of Axxess, John Olajide recently delivered the commencement address at the first all-university commencement ceremony for the University of Texas at Dallas. In 2004, Olajide earned a degree in telecommunications engineering from the University of Texas at Dallas.

Richard C. Benson, President Eugene McDermott Distinguished University Chair of Leadership, in his invitation, described Olajide as a distinguished alumnus and a friend of UT Dallas, who is intertwined with the success of the University.

In 2015, Olajide became the youngest person ever honored as a distinguished alumnus by the University of Texas at Dallas, and in 2018 was named to the school’s executive board. He also serves on the Executive Committee for the Chancellor’s Council of the University of Texas System.

In October 2019, Axxess announced the largest-ever scholarship endowment program for computer science and engineering students at the University of Texas at Dallas.
