The Idoma Women in Diaspora, U.S.A hosted its inaugural conference and fundraising dinner at a colorful and fun filled event which held at the West Bowie Village Hall, Bowie Maryland.
IWD is a women group that was established in Maryland, as a 501(c)(3) organization by a group of Idoma Women with a vision to; provide a consistent reliable source of support to help provide services to meet the Health and educational needs of vulnerable children, through providing integrated services, initiatives and projects in order for these children to achieve their full potentials.
Some other objectives of IWD include; to Plan, design and implement programs and interventions that will provide health services to improve the well being of vulnerable children through collaboration with the local hospitals.
IWD also plans to provide support through tuition assistance to girls studying science in order to empower them in the field of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) while breaking the gender sensitive barrier to help them excel.
