Former ADC to Delta State Governor Killed In Bauchi

A junior mobile policeman attached to Mopol 10, Bauchi, on Thursday night shot dead the former aide-de-camp to Delta State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, and Mr. Chris Ifeanyichukwu Eza. Eza was until his death a Squadron Commander in Mopol 10, Bauchi. Sources have revealed that the killer cop went berserk following a minor disagreement with Eza before shooting him five times, killing him instantly. The death of Eza who hailed from Erowha in Isoko South Council Area has been a rude shock to those who served with him in Delta when he was ADC to Uduaghan.

Police Public Relation Officer DSP Haruna Mohammed confirmed the incident while speaking with newsmen in Bauchi on Friday. He said when the incident happened, “the victim was rushed to Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital Bauchi where he was certified dead by a Medical Doctor and the corpse deposited at the Mortuary for postmortem examination.” Mohammed said the scene of the incident was visited by the Commissioner of Police Mohammed K. Mohammed and his management team. He said the suspect; a police corporal was arrested and detained while the Commissioner of Police has ordered for a full scale investigation into the matter to know the reason why the suspect shot him to death.

Some years ago, Eza and his orderly were shot and hospitalized when hoodlums attacked the convoy of Uduaghan along the Benin-Warri highway at Oghara, headquarters of Ethiope West Local Government Area of the state. The deceased father, who served as a Divisional Police Officer (DPO), was killed during a robbery attack some years ago.
