Maryland – Survivors of Breast Cancer hit the runway in designer attires from the stable of Afua Sam’s Studio D-Maxsi. This unique presentation was part of the highlights at the Steps to the Cure fundraiser and runway show which took place in Maryland recently.
Steps to the Cure is driven by the specific needs of the Maryland breast cancer patient, and visualized by the surrounding community of artists, entrepreneurs, and philanthropists brought together by The Larry and Lori Lickstein Foundation.
This year’s 40 breast cancer survivor/runway models included 2 men, and showcased individually created designs by both professional designers and local hand-picked MICA students. Beneficiaries of the 2011 event are Hopewell Cancer Support and the Red Devils.
