London – Acclaimed African designer Folake Folarin-Coker will make her European debut as she presents her award-winning label ‘Tiffany Amber’ for the first time during London Fashion Week. She will present her Spring Summer 2012 collection ‘Siren of The Nile’ to a select audience of European buyers, stylists, fashion press and celebrities. The exclusive presentation will take place at the prestigious Charing Cross Hotel, located in the heart of London.
The highly-anticipated ‘Siren of The Nile’ SS12 collection is a conversation with Eastern and Western influences, drawing upon the rich geometry of traditional African craft and combining these elements with bold Western shapes. The alluring feminine silhouettes are enhanced by spell-binding swirly prints in hues of midnight blue, green and canary yellow, while the horse inspired print brings out strength and stability.
The Siren of the Nile collection celebrates the true essence and self-discovery of the elegant and sophisticated woman. A woman who is unfaithful to fashion trends and stays true to that which is most important to her – her own sense of style.
Tiffany Amber reflects Nigerian-born Folake’s love for luxurious fabrics and intricate embellishments, which create timeless and feminine pieces. Folake’s creations of delicate, stunning shapes have glided down numerous runways across Africa, Paris and New York. Her designs have earned her rave reviews including Harpers Bazaar, who described her line as “top pick of Africa’s emerging talent.”
Tiffany Amber’s London Fashion Week debut is supported by Africa’s leading financial institution Guaranty Trust Bank and Arik Air.
