The actress and producer, known for “Dear White People,” “Chi-Raq” and the award-winning movie “If Beale Street Could Talk” will star in “WandaVision.” She plays the grown-up version of Monica Rambeau, who was introduced to audiences in “Captain Marvel” in the upcoming film.
The web television series is based on the Marvel Comics superheroes and sees Paul Bettany reprise the role of Vision and Elizabeth Olsen return to her role of Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch and it premieres on Disney+ in the spring of 2021.
This was announced by MCU President Kevin Feige who also shared information on several Marvel Studios’ movie releases and series to air on Disney’s new streaming service Disney+ which launches in the U.S. on November 12.
These include “The Eternals,” which stars Brian Tyree Henry, Salma Hayek and Angelina Jolie and debuts in theaters on November 6, 2020, the next Thor film, “Thor: Love and Thunder” and “Black Widow” which is slated for a May 1, 2020 release and sees Scarlett Johansson reprising her role of Natasha Romanoff.
