Obama administration halts deportations

Washington DC – The Obama administration has announced that it will suspend deportation proceedings against about 300,000 illegal immigrants who pose no threat or clear and present danger to national security or public safety.

The policy is expected to help thousands of illegal immigrants who came to the United States as children, graduated from high school and want to go to college or serve in the armed forces.

The decision will use executive action to accomplish a goal set forth in legislation that has stalled in Congress for a decade.

However, conservatives charged that the administration is trying to bypass congress with administrative “amnesty”.
