Dallas – The choice venue for the first phase of the weekend of celebration was the ultra modern Meridian Gardens in Arlington. Birthday girl Jane Ekwonye arrived the venue with a retinue of friends in a gleaming white Hummer limo. A quick glimpse inside the limo revealed that the party had been on all through the over an hour drive from north Dallas. DJ’s Nana B and Zimo reeled out vibes to create an atmosphere of max fun at the meridian just as marinated fish and suya flowed out of the kitchen.
The main event at the Zituna banquet hall in Richardson literally surprised majority of guests especially with the exquisite details that adorned the entire venue. A custom designed red carpet backdrop with the inscriptions “Jane; forty and fabulous” was the initial sight of class while the velvet and linen clad “sign in” table ensured that guests felt important and welcomed especially with the choice of multiple colored pens. The banquet styled table arrangement, multicolored wall lights, personalized china ware, satin covered seats and and ceiling drapes all added to “a view to a kill”. Soft and low toned music filtered through concert type sound equipments controlled by Dallas finest DJ’s; Paulo and Big Joe also ensured a welcomed feeling. At this point, it was obvious that the celebrant was all out to ensure maximum fun and comfort for all guests.
The celebrants entrance was spectacular. She alighted from a gleaming white hummer limousine about midnight and was ushered unto a hand carried chariot powered by four chesty Men. An amplified version of a gun salute signaled the main entry to the banquet hall as Jane Ekwonye appeared through a cloud of smoke unto a petal riddled red carpet. It was a Victorian and royal spectacle that caught the attention of everyone in the hall. A pair of ballerina dancers also performed during the birthday reception which was smartly anchored by Mr. Umunna of Elegance Magazine. Other media in the house included Unique Images Magazine, International Socialite Magazine and Trendy Africa Magazine.
