Glorious home going in honor of Ma Mary Olusola Fakulujo (1937 – 2024)

It was much more than a celebration of life in honor of Late Pastor Mary Olusola Fakulujo, 86, who transitioned on March 6, 2024. It was more of a glorious home-going as family, friends and well-wishers gathered to pay respect at events both in the United States of America and Nigeria.

When the news of the transition to glory of our mother, Ma Mary Olusola Fakulujo got to me, I was particularly stunned. The reason being that I was in Lagos barely a week prior and had sent a token to her during the visit of her granddaughter, Ayomide and daughter in-law, Adukwe. Captivating photos of the visit revealed the high spirits of mama and the intimate and special moments with her ‘August Guests’.

My memories of mama span years, even prior to the nuptial between Ayodele Fakulujo and Adukwe Aduayi. My visits to her sprawling property at Iju Ishaga were always refreshing, just as I always looked forward to consuming chilled non-alcoholic drinks including malt and fanta, which made my drive from my palmgove base to Iju, always worthwhile. Mama was always pleasant and hospitable. Her smiles remain addictive even till today.

On behalf of my family, I pray that the soul mama rest in perfect peace and that our good Lord will grant the family the fortitude to bear the loss.
