FGGC Sagamu Alumni Houston Reunion

Federal Government Girls College Sagamu Alumni in the USA recently hosted its 7th annual fundraising/reunion event at the Sam Houston Ballroom in Houston Texas. Special guests included representatives of Congresswoman Sheila Jackson-Lee and Honorable Abike Dabiri-Arewa, special guest speakers HRH Princess (Dr.) Moradeun Ogunlana and Dr. John Adesioye of Utopia Consulting International.

The reunion events kicked off on Friday 28th April 2017 with some of the alumni sisters volunteering at the Houston women’s shelter for domestic abuse. On the day of the main event, they started off the day with a 5k walk geared towards reinforcing a culture of keeping fit and healthy. This was followed by a breakfast meeting session titled “Women’s Health Let’s talk.” The presentation which was facilitated by “Mutiat Sunshine” focused on various women-related health issues.

Entertainment was provided by MC/comedian Jedi and renowned R&B artist Darey who performed some of his hit songs which got everyone dancing, singing and having a blast.

About the Alumni Organization in USA

The USA alumni in the USA was established in July 2011 and formally registered as a non-profit organization in November of same year. The major goal of the organization is to bring together and leverage our network to raise funds and resources to support our Alma mater.  Other goals include providing support to members and our sister organizations across the globe by leveraging individual and collective resources and talents.  The US chapter of Federal Government Girls College (FGGC) Sagamu Alumni is proud of all its achievements till date including the following:

Alumni assistance program (bereavement & medical expenses donation)

Student sponsorship to the W-TEC Educational Live-In Summer Camp

Student sponsorship for trip to Social Media Week (SMW), Lagos
