ABUJA – Nigeria’s Acting President Goodluck Jonathan was this morning sworn in as President and Head of State a few hours after the death of former President, Musa Yar’Adua.
Jonathan took the oath of office at the Presidential Villa with members of the Executive Council of the Federation, some state governors, and ambassadors in attendance.
The ceremony was performed by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Alloysius Katsina-Alu.
President Jonathan will have to appoint a deputy to serve out the remainder of the current term.
