Dallas to host O.A.U Ile-Ife 2022 International Reunion

The Alumni Association of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, Nigeria has scheduled the international reunion of the association for the city of Dallas, Texas, USA from September 2-4, 2022 at THE EMBASSY SUITES BY HILTON, DALLAS-FRISCO.

According to Dr. Tunde Adeyemo, president of the Dallas branch, the reunion was earlier scheduled for 2020, but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. He however mentioned that the Branch is ready for a memorable experience for all attendees.

Preparations are in top gear for the reception of about 1,000 Alumni who will be attending from the USA, Brazil, Germany, UK, Gambia, Ghana, South Africa, Canada and Nigeria.

Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife is one of three Universities established in Nigeria between 1961 and 1962 as a result of the report submitted to the Federal Government in September 1960. The University started with five Faculties – Agriculture, Arts, Economics and Social studies (now Social Sciences), Law and Science. Six new Faculties have since been added, namely the Faculty of Education (established on 1st October 1967), the Faculty of Pharmacy (established on 1st October, 1969), the Faculties Technology and Health Sciences (now College of Health Sciences) (both established on 1st October, 1960), Faculty of Administration with effect from 1st October 1979)    and Faculty of Environmental Design and Management (established on April 6, 1982).
