He held the microphone just like a time tested pro would. His voice echoed out of acoustic tuned loudspeakers. His gesture was new to the crowd. One could hear the silent whisper on the minds of the audience; “who is this dude?”
New York based De Joenez performed as a guest artist at Murphy’s lounge during the recently held Nigeria Independence celebration. He was not a common sight for the Dallas based audience but his performance attracted so much rapt attention then eventually a great applause.
De Joenez was once referred to as the “Golden Boy” for his talent as a singer and a multi instrumentalist. His talent, many believed was inherent from his late father “Joenez,” who was in his own right a very accomplished Nigerian Musician.
De Joenez has played in the same events with Ebenezer Obey and King Sunny Ade. He also performed at events with Late Christy Essien at the MUSON center, Lagos and has also performed in Imo, Abia and several other states in Nigeria.
De Joenez is billed to perform as a special guest Artist during the upcoming Big A Entertainment Wizboyy Concert at Aso Rock Dallas (9220 Skillman street, Dallas) on the 13th of October. In his quest to showcase his unique talent worldwide while promoting his recently released CD, an album release and fund raiser is being planned to be hosted in the City of Dallas.
Trendy Africa Media will play a significant role at the event while Murphy’s Lounge has offered their venue as support consideration. More updates on this will be available on Trendy Africa.
