The office of Africa Liaison, City of Dallas has hosted a black history month event celebrating African traditions and culture. The celebration which also fell on the last official day of the USA Black history month, held in the lobby of the Dallas City Hall attracting lots of attention from staff and visitors.
Regina Hill Onyeibe, Africa Liaison for the City of Dallas introduced the event just as the Bandan Koro African drummers entertained guests with a drum and dance rendition. The event features lectures on African culture by; Mrs. Sipo Gumbo from Zimbabwe and Dr. Richard Nwachukwu from Nigeria.
Guests were later entertained with a mix of West African and East African cuisine. According to the Africa liaison, the event was about making a true attempt at bringing together the African and African American communities in the city of Dallas.
