Adele 25 not on Spotify and Apple

Adele’s highly-anticipated new album will not be available on the streaming services Spotify and Apple Music, it has been confirmed. The singer’s XL Recording label is not making 25 available on streaming platforms when it is released today. It is unclear if the album will appear on Spotify or Apple Music in the future.

The move means listeners will have to download the album, or buy it in the shops, driving up sales. The album is predicted to sell more than one million copies in its first week. The first single from the record, Hello, broke download and viewing records when it was released last month.

Spotify said: “We love and respect Adele, as do her 24 million fans on Spotify. “We hope that she will give those fans the opportunity to enjoy 25 on Spotify alongside 19 and 21 very soon.” Her recently released hit single “Hello” currently has a record breaking 450,000,000 views on youtube.
