Jodie Turner-Smith attends premiere of the Star Wars series, “The Acolyte”

British actress Jodie Turner-Smith was one of several cast members celebrating the new, live-action series which premieres June 4 on Disney+. “The Acolyte” series takes place 100 years before the “Star Wars” trilogy and stars Amandla Stenberg, Lee Jung-jae, Manny Jacinto, Dafne Keen and Carrie-Anne Moss.

It is the latest “Star Wars” show to premiere on Disney+. Others include “Obi-Wan Kenobi,” “Andor,” “The Book of Boba Fett” and “Ahsoka.” “The Mandalorian,” which premiered back in 2019, and was the first live action “Star Wars” series to stream on Disney+.

 Turner-Smith’s projects include the romantic drama “Queen & Slim,” the TV mini-series “Anne Boleyn,” the film “Without Remorse” in which she played the ass-kicking, ball-busting Lt. Commander Karen Greer, a female Navy Seal.

She is currently filming “A Big Bold Beautiful Journey” alongside Margot Robbie and Colin Farrell.

Leslye Headland created the series, based on “Star Wars” by renowned filmmaker George Lucas, who also created “Indiana Jones” franchises.

“The Acolyte” series launches on Tuesday, June 4, with the first two episodes, exclusively on Disney+. Award-winning composer Michael Abels, known for his work on “Get Out” and “Us,” scored the series.
