On the day our dear mother passed, October 23, 2024, we the siblings immediately decided to plan a befitting send forth in the earliest agreeable time frame. The dates of Wednesday November 27, and Thursday November 28, 2024, were fixed.
Planning commenced in earnest and our beautiful matriarch will continue to smile in eternity for the glorious outcome.
Prior to the Lagos events, Celebration of life and Service of Songs were hosted in Texas and Washington DC, by children, Mr. Tosan Aduayi and Mrs. Irene Fakulujo, on the 15th and 16th of November, at the RCCG Household of faith, Arlington Texas, and RCCG Jesus House, DC, respectively.
The Lagos funeral events commenced with a well-attended Service of songs at the RCCG Israel Assembly, Alausa Ikeja on November 27.

On November 28, an early lying-in-state/viewing for our late mother, Mrs. Patricia Sisanwumi Aduayi occurred between 7.30am – 8.30am. Thereafter, a 9am funeral service commenced promptly at the Archbishop Vining Memorial Cathedral- AVMC in Ikeja GRA.

At about 11am, our mother was transported to her final resting place at the Memorial Garden, Redemption camp, on the outskirts of Lagos.
The family and guest eventually settled at the Victoria Gardens event center, Alausa Lagos for a regal reception event which ran from 12.30pm to 10pm. Guests who arrived early were greeted by an Itsekiri dance troupe while promptly served with pepper soup and bread roll.
The reception was characterized by a constant flow of an assortment of meals and choice beverages including starch with banga soup, oriental rice with prawns, roasted plantain and grilled mackerel, amala and ewedu, jollof and fried rice, and much more.

*Mom has gone home without giving me the smiles from her sexy eyes. Mum has left Dad and her handsome and beautiful well-behaved children, her adorable grandchildren and her bundles of joy great grandchildren. Oh, mum has left her ever supportive sons in-laws and loving daughters in-law. Mum has left me in faraway France 🇫🇷 just when I thought I could show her my latest certificate of PhD in family business. I sincerely want to thank all of you for all you did during her lifetime. She had a good life. She was loved, cared for and honored. When she was unwell, she felt love till she took her last breath. Please help me take care of my Dad whose lover girl has left. Biography
Mrs. Patricia Sisanwumi Aduayi, nee Sagay, was born on the 18th day of August 1942 in Sapele to the family of Pa Joseph Esanjumi Sagay and Mrs. Elizabeth Sagay (nee Eruwa) of Amukpe, Sapele, Delta State.
‘Beauty’ as she was fondly called always lit up the room with her smile and demeanor. She was born with a natural grace and humility which shone through everything she did. She happily took care of her nieces and nephews and gained a lot of experience in taking care of children before she got married and started having children of her own.
This naturally led her to a career in nursing which commenced in Ibadan and continued at the State Hospital in Benin and relocated to Kenya with her family, where she continued working as a nurse at the Kenyata National Hospital.
Patricia Aduayi continued with her nursing career at the then University of Ife, Ile-Ife [now Obafemi Awolowo University] teaching hospital when we relocated back to Nigeria in 1974. It was from this hospital that she retired as Chief Nursing Officer in 2002.
While transversing married life and career, she gave birth and nurtured six children: Tosan, Desiree, Irene, Angela, Victor and Nanette. Mom was a gentle disciplinarian and would usually set us straight with her ‘eyes’.
Mom was a staunch member of the All-Souls Church OAU Ile-Ife, where she worshipped religiously for several years. She was a very committed, supportive, and active member of the Ushers Guild until her call to Glory. Whenever she visited her children, she actively attended their respective churches including Household of Faith.
In our Dad’s words, “God worked nonstop to make my wife adorably beautiful. “B”, as I fondly call her, has stood firmly at my side through the journey of life in thick and thin since we got married over 50 years ago. She never complains and has never disrespected me. We have mutual respect”
Patricia Aduayi and Prof. Aduayi spent the last 22 years of their retirement in unity, love, and humility until October 23, 2024, when she was called unto glory.
She is blessed with children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
