Houston, TX, November 21, 2013– Fashion Week 2013 in Houston was another extraordinary event and this year’s Fashion Week was highlighted by TeKay Designs unique ethnic-influenced designs. At the Houston Fashion Week kickoff, TeKay Designs wowed the crowd with dresses with sexy cutouts, varying lengths and vibrant colors. Ms. America 2013, Chiniqua Pettaway, greeted the audience in a stunning TeKay dress.
“We combined ethnic fabrics like GTP and Daviva from Ghana, Vlisco from Holland, Aso-Ake from Nigeria, Kikou from Kenya in varying colors with contemporary European textiles like satin, organza and lace. My inspiration is the sun and the earth hence the vibrant red, orange, brown and green colors.” – Kimma Wreh, Creative Director, TeKay Designs
At the African Fashion Summit in Belvedere, models wearing TeKay Designs, including short sets and dresses, amazed attendees with the incredibly elegant and sexy styles of clothes influenced by traditional African fabrics, patterns, colors and styles. At the Flamenco Fashion Show, diners ate delicious foods influenced by Flamenco styles, while they watched a live fashion show with some of TeKay’s breath-taking Flamenco-influenced designs.
The three events at Houston Fashion Week proved, beyond a doubt, that TeKay is the nation’s top multi-cultural designer. Their fashions combine haute couture with traditional patterns and fabrics from around the globe.
“Crisp, cotton fabrics with bold patterns and a colorful palette give the collection a distinctive look and feel that you won’t find anywhere else. It’s a fun and fresh approach to dressing that lifts your spirits visually.” – Diane Sulpizio, Fashion Stylist.
