Senator Bode Olajumoke marks 80th birthday in Lagos

Senator Bode Olajumoke celebrated his 80th birthday in grand style at the prestigious Yoruba Tennis Club in Onikan, Lagos. The event was attended by dignitaries from across the Nigerian political spectrum, as well as friends and well-wishers who gathered to honor him.

About Bode Olajumoke:

Dr Bode Olajumoke of Imeri, Ondo state was born on the 1st of July 1944. He attended FIditi Grammar School and later on the Moscow Friendship University where he earned his master’s degree.

Senator Olajumoke became a Doctor of Law in 1974. While in the civil service, he held several managerial positions and designed and conducted a 3-month Training Course for Federal Civil Servants on level 12 cadre and above (’75-’76).

He attended law school between 1979 and 1980, from where he joined the Ministry of Defense. He retired voluntarily in 1987 to set up his law firm popularly known today as Popoola and Olajumoke in Lagos.

His foray into politics began as a member of the 1995 Constitutional Conference; he further established his cause for peaceful politics when the Imeri Unity Group resolved the Awolowo-Akintola family discord.
