Ile-Ife Welcomes New Iyalaje Oodua

Arole Oduduwa Olofin Adimula, Ooni Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, the King of Ile-Ife, recently installed Princess (Dr.) Toyin Kolade as Iyalaje Oodua at a ceremony that attracted thousands of guests to the ancient city in South West Nigeria.

Princess (Dr.) TOYIN KOLADE

Iyalaje Oodua is a title that can only be given to someone who embodies the spirit of Aje, which is wealth, success and prosperity. It is a spiritual title.

Wife of Osun State Governor, Kafayat Oyetola, the wife of a former Ogun State governor, Mrs Funsho Amosun, and the deputy governor of Kogi State, Edward Onoja, were among the dignitaries that graced the occasion.

Princess (Dr.) TOYIN KOLADE

During the rites preceding the installation, Kolade was led to Idi Aje, the shrine of Aje dirty, and was later received by Ooni and other guests in attendance at the palace court where prayers were offered for her.

Praying for the new Iyalaje Oodua, Ooni Ogunwusi, said the title bestowed on Kolade would open doors to prosperity for her and the entire Yorubaland.
