We live in unusual times with unimaginable occurrences but nothing, absolutely nothing was about to steal the joy from Dr. Abimbola Awodipe-Jaiyesimi as she marked her 50th birthday with family and friends via a virtual celebration – zoom.
Her spouse and children planned a well executed surprise. Interestingly, I was mentioned as an alibi, a good one though. The plot: while she chilled in the comfort of her room, balloon decor and a elaborate zoom connection had been established. She was to get dressed with some cool make-over awaiting my photo shoot.
To her surprise, she alighted to a cozy ambiance and an already active virtual birthday with greetings from loved ones from thousands of miles away. I arrived her residence later and documented the excitement of the day.
Dr. Abimbola Awodipe-Jaiyesimi, MD is a Geriatric Medicine Specialist in Dallas and has over 28 years of experience in the medical field. She graduated from Obafemi Awolowo University (Great Ife) medical school in 1992.
