Chevron ditches California, moves to Texas

The nation’s second-largest oil company is moving to the nation’s second-largest state. After nearly 150 years, Chevron is uprooting its headquarters and heading to Texas. The oil giant already had about 7,000 employees in the Houston area: plus, it’s been battling with California authorities over the risks of fossil fuels.

It’s not the only major U.S. company to make the move to the Lone Star State in recent months: Earlier this month, Elon Musk said he intended to move the home bases of both X and SpaceX there. Tesla already made the change back in 2021.

Question: Why do politicians pretend? When multinational corporations leave a state in droves, its really not a good sign. Just my 2 cents.
