“How beautiful you are my darling! Oh, how beautiful! Your eyes are doves…How handsome you are my lover! Oh, how charming! And our bed is verdant”. Songs of Solomon 1:15-16
And they never ran out of special moments during the three day nuptial event. There was so much revelation about the true feelings the young couple has for each other. Sanmi and Tosin Laja-Akintayo exchanged marriage vows at a glamorous event in Dallas, Texas recently.
The couple had great ideas which were obviously translated to reality as witnessed during the event. Let me say that I consider the choice of venue as really considerate and environmentally friendly. The three main events; engagement, Church wedding and reception held in one location saving guests lots of lost miles and the hassles of locating addresses especially for those from out of town.
The engagement was a blend of sweet choice of colors with culture toppings that produced moments of laughter and emotions. Family and friends participated in the proceedings with lots of singing and dancing. At a stage, the groom’s friends orchestrated a general salute followed by prostration in front of the bride’s family.
The wedding itself was simply a classy affair. The seats in the hall were wrapped with white cloths and held down by Gold satin laces tied to form bows. Guests took their seats just as the ceremony commenced on schedule. Pastor Chris Adetoro of RCCG officiated at the event as he explained that the couple had actually committed themselves in the presence of a Justice of Peace on September 2nd 2005.
The bride looked delectable in her custom gown while the groom was a perfect gentleman in his tuxedo. They both displayed some preliminary dance steps during the thanksgiving.
The guest Minister, Ronke Adesokan hit some high notes to the delight of all as she entertained at dedicated sessions during the ceremony.
The reception hall was simply grand. The décor was splendid. The wedding cake by Romanos Bakery was placed delectably on a heart shaped table with rose petals sprinkled to form a glorious pattern.
The fun was non stop from when the bridal train who led Mr. and Mrs. Laja-Akintayo into the venue up until the live band performance that climaxed the reception event. What about the Ghana customary drum beats and dress up? simply splendid. This was definitely an A class event.
