Idris Elba, Sasheer Zamata and Kojo Attah Attend Premiere Of ‘Masters of the Universe’

Director Travis Knight is bringing the legendary franchise back to the big screen in this live-action adventure. “Masters of the Universe” was released in 1987 starring Dolph Lundgren as He-Man and Frank Langella as Skeletor. Based on the Mattel toy line, it followed a hero as he accidentally travels to Earth using a cosmic key to protect the universe from his ultimate archenemy.

Released during the twilight of the original toy franchise’s peak, it became a cult classic. He-Man has existed across cartoons, toys, comics, and films, making it a shared reference point for multi-generational fans.

Knight is bringing the classic back to the big screen with a star studded cast that includes Jared Leto and Idris Elba and recently held the world premiere at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood. Attendees were transported from Hollywood to Eternia as the film’s cast, filmmakers, and special guests celebrated the epic cinematic adventure inspired by the franchise.
