U.S.A Senate passes funding bill that would end shutdown

The longest recorded government shutdown in U.S. history may be coming to an end. The Senate has voted to pass a temporary funding bill to reopen the government and reinstate laid-off federal workers with back pay. If approved by the House — and signed by President Donald Trump — the package would fund the government through Jan. 30, and the Departments of Agriculture and Veterans Affairs and Congress itself for all of 2026.
