It’s one of the most anticipated movies of the year and releases in U.S. theaters this Friday. Played by Tom Hardy, Venom is one of Spider-Man’s most popular and enduring nemeses who spawned a solo comic of his own. Ruben Fleischer steps into the director’s seat in this Marvel movie, which follows Eddie (Hardy) a journalist who has been trying to take down the notorious founder of the Life Foundation, genius Carlton Drake (Riz Ahmed) – and that obsession ruined his career and his relationship with his girlfriend, Anne Weying (Michelle Williams).
As he investigates one of Drake’s experiments, the alien Venom merges with Eddie’s body, and he suddenly has incredible new superpowers, as well as the chance to do just about whatever he wants. Twisted, dark, unpredictable, and fueled by rage, Venom leaves Eddie wrestling to control dangerous abilities that he also finds empowering and intoxicating.
Rated PG-13 by the Motion Picture Association of America for intense sequences of sci-fi violence and action, “Venom” hits theaters Friday October 5th.
