The SMU-ASO screening of “Waving Flag”

DALLAS – In an effort to celebrate the rich culture of Africans all over the world as well as bridge the gap between their American counterparts, the Southern Methodist University African Students Association (SMU-ASO) hosted a documentary pre-screening of “WAVING FLAG”. The film director of Waving Flag; Victor Adetiba and producer David Solomon both introduced the documentary and welcomed guests in attendance.

A four-man discussion panel presented their views on the movie and answered questions from the audience. Issues discussed included; the political landscape of Africa, the media bias, healthcare, education and race. Waving flag comprises of interviews conducted with Nigerians who have lived their whole life in the USA as well as those that immigrated. Both groups share similar day to day stuggles due to their background.
