The Hollywood Foreign Press Association and The Hollywood Reporter party at TIFF

 It was a jam-packed event at this year’s Toronto Film Festival (TIFF) as celebrities from Eddie Murphy, Cynthia Erivo, Jennifer Lopez, Michael B. Jordan, Susan Kelechi Watson celebrated at the annual HFPA party which this year was produced in conjunction with the Hollywood Reporter.

Kerry Washington who has screened several films at TIFF was among the many A-listers who attended the soiree and was excited to reunite with her former co-star Jamie Foxx. They both starred in the 2004 biopic “Ray,” a film which made its premiere at the annual film festival now in its 44th year.

“It’s a great festival. It’s classy and a fun one to be at!” Washington told Trendy on the red carpet. Murphy was there to promote his role as the comedy icon Rudy Ray Moore in Craig Brewer’s “Dolemite Is My Name,” Erivo who plays Harriet Tubman in the biopic “Harriet” was in attendance promoting the upcoming film which releases in November, while Michael B. Jordan and Jamie Foxx were there to promote the social justice saga “Just Mercy. ”

The 44th Toronto International Film Festival is scheduled to wrap September 15 and runs annually for 10 days in September beginning on the Thursday after Labour Day. It is the largest film festival in North America, its international stature is second only to the Cannes Film Festival and it has now become a major launching pad for Oscar contenders.
