The Glitz and Glamour at TAMMAE 2012

GARLAND, TX – From the soul inspiring and thrilling introductory performance by artist David Dare to the intermittent and consistent rib cracking jokes by comedian MC PC, the second annual Trendy Africa magazine mothers appreciation event-TAMMAE surely lived up to it’s billing. TAMMAE 2012 featured young energetic talents such as Dare David, Qswyft; whom some described as our own version of 50 cents, designers LYZA FAYE and ANKARA REBEL who both showcased sensational designs.

Highlight of the glamorous evening was the presentation of Awards to five deserving women in the community namely; Dr. Anu Ogunlari, Ifeoma Obiagwu, Debbie Nwokoye, Loveth Isidaehomen and Bukky Williams. All except Williams were at the venue to receive the Awards in company of family and friends. Citations for the awardee’s were eloquently delivered by Rose Akpa and Leilani Ogujiofor. TAMMAE also featured a raffle which produced a winner of two round trip tickets to Lagos Nigeria. Vice President of Arik Air Mr. Robert Brunner was on hand to personally present the prize to Mrs. Funke Jaiyeola.

There was no dull moment through the three hour event as DJ Paulo ensured pure renditions of hit songs just as the trendy Africa crew kept the timeline flawless. Host and comedian MC PC kept ribs cracking all through till the break. TAMMAE is designed to appreciate, motivate and empower women and mothers in the community. The event will honor women who have shown remarkable resilience through life’s challenges.

CITATION FOR TAMMAE FOUNDER:

Emmanuel Tosan Aduayi is the founder and Publisher of Trendy Africa Magazine, a web and print based informative medium with a strong social media presence on facebook, google plus and twitter. Trendy Africa was founded in 2004 as a website while Trendy Africa Magazine commenced publication in 2008. Trendy Africa is an accredited foreign press media at the U.S State Department and it’s also catalogued in the Library of congress.

Trendy Africa features Aduayi’s prolific writing and photographic skill’s which has seen him report on economic and social events across the USA, Europe and Africa. Through this medium, he has published articles such as “10 reasons to consider investing in the Re-born Nigerian Economy” and “Man suffers from lack of Knowledge…the Nigeria Global warming catastrophe”.

His journalism career dates back to 1992 when his first article on electronic products was published in “Crown Prince”, a Men’s Magazine published in Nigeria. He later became the pioneer Motoring Editor for Fame Weekly (1994), Encomium (1996) and Ovation International (1999), where he was an international correspondent and eventually became the USA bureau chief between 2003 and 2008.

Aduayi became the first Nigerian reporter to travel with a USA president on an official foreign trip. His eight day trip with former United States President George Bush to five Countries in Latin America including Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Venezuela and Guatemala would probably be regarded as a major milestone and an outstanding accomplishment in his Journalism Career. The trip was documented in Ovation International Magazine issue 93.

On several occasions, Aduayi was cleared to report on various Head of State visits to the U.S White House amongst who are; Pres. Olusegun Obasanjo, Pres. Yar’Adua and Pres. Searleaf Johnson. He has also been accredited to report sessions of the United Nations General Assembly and other high profile events including the Leon Sullivan Foundation, Corporate Council on Africa, National Higher Educational Fund and the historic Inauguration of President Barack Obama.

Out of his zeal for community service, Aduayi created “Grace for Victims” – TAGV, a charity arm of trendy Africa Media. The charity caters for the less privileged as well as campaigns against issues of domestic violence. The campaign is tagged; “Speak Up Against Domestic Violence” – SAD. He has also created unique concepts such as; TAMMAE-a mother’s appreciation event and LGE- a head wrap (gele) pageant.

Aduayi immigrated to Maryland, USA in 2003 and relocated to Dallas in 2008. He is married and blessed with children. Over the years, he has acquired a B.sc in Accounting as well as other certificates in various fields including Journalism, Digital Photography, Computer Science and Automobile Technology.
