President Goodluck Jonathan meets with Professionals in Diaspora

New York – A presidential lunch with Nigerian Professionals in Diaspora held recently at the Plaza Hotel grand ballroom in New York. The event coincided with the arrival of President Goodluck Jonathan to the United Nations General Assembly.

The President was accompanied by the first lady, H.E Dame Dr. Patience Jonathan, the honorable minister of finance; Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment; Dr. Olusegun Aganga, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs; Prof. (Mrs.) Viola Onwuliri, Petroleum minister Alison-Madueke and the Nigerian Ambassador to the USA; Prof. Ade Adefuye. The Governors of Ondo and Bornu States; Olusegun Mimiko and Ali Sheriff were also present at the event.

Members of Nigerians in Diaspora Organization (NIDO), led by the chairman; Mr. Ganiyu Dada made a great representation and received commendations from President Goodluck Jonathan. Several NIDO members were specially honored by the president for various remarkable achievements.

President Jonathan mentioned that he would endeavor to attend such forums regularly also entertained questions on the economy and security at the event which witnessed a capacity attendance.
