Oprah Winfrey catches up with Lupita Nyong’o and Cynthia Erivo for primetime special

Lupita Nyong’o and Cynthia Erivo will discuss their fast rise to fame with Oprah Winfrey on a primetime special which will air Saturday, October 26 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT on OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network.

In the show, Winfrey and Oscar-winning actress Lupita Nyong’o discuss colorism in Hollywood and if it still exists as Nyong’o’s premieres her newest project, her children’s book called “Sulwe,” which features a 5-year-old girl who has the darkest skin color in her family. The book which hits shelves on October 15 is a picture book which inspires children to love their uniqueness.

Nyong’o also opens up about thriving in an industry she felt excluded from and talks about her starring role in Jordan Peele’s “Us,” and her experience winning “Best Supporting Actress” for “12 Years a Slave” at the Academy Awards in 2014.

 Then, Tony, Emmy and Grammy Award-winning actress Cynthia Erivo joins Oprah to talk about her starring role in the upcoming film, “Harriet” and her preparation to play Harriet and the controversy surrounding her casting in the role.
