Nigerian Nurses Recognized in Dallas

Mayor of Dallas, Eric Johnson welcomed members and attendees to the Nigerian Nurses Association DFW – NNADFW Annual Award and Recognition celebration which held in Richardson, Texas.

In his commendation note, Mayor Johnson thanked the NNADFW leadership for bringing nurses together to address critical healthcare issues in the United States as well as abroad.

The ceremony commenced with an invocation by Jakie Penn while Vice President of NNADFW, Lillian Elegonye delivered the welcome address and thanked all in attendance for their support.

The planning committee chair, Onyinye Nsofor recognized guests and association representatives including; Black Nurses Association, Ghanaian Nurses Association, International Organization of African Nurses, Association of Nigerian Physicians in the Americas, to name a few.

Presentation of Awards and commendations also formed key highlights of the event. Noteworthy of all the awards was the Presidential Award presented to Jane Ekwonye by NNADFW President, Mabel Omotosho and Tina Ogbonna.

Awards were also presented to members who have recently elevated themselves academically. The event committee members; Precious Ezeoma, Rosemond Ubani, Martha Ozo and Kelechi Ogbuehi, were all acknowledged for their selfless efforts and great execution.
