HOUSTON – The event was more of an oldies social mixer than you can imaging. Alumni who hadn’t seen themselves in about 25 years or more gathered together at the upscale Crowne Plaza Hotel Ballroom for an activity filled 10th year anniversary celebration.
The Vice Chancellor of Obafemi Awolowo University Ile-Ife (former University of Ife) Prof. M.O. Faborode made a surprise attendance in the midst of the pressing issues back in his constituency in Nigeria. The Houston Alumni president Mr. Gbenga Agboola expressed his excitement over the overwhelming attendance of alumni and their guests to the event.
Also in attendance; Wole Olaoye, National President of Great Ife Alumni Association Nigeria, His Royal Highness Dr. Adegbola Babalola and his Olori Mrs. Elizabeth Babalola, Olorogun Eddy Olafeso, inaugural President Great Ife Alumni association Houston Chapter and Deolu Esho, President of the Dallas Chapter of Great Ife Alumni Association.
