I must say that the fermentation process of the berries is richly done which leaves a tingling sensation on the taste buds. The 3rd annual Trendy Africa Magazine Mothers Appreciation Event-TAMMAE received commendable responses from the honoree’s and guests who gathered at the plush Jupiter Gardens Event Center in Dallas. For the first time, Tammae 2013 featured three performing artists including; MATEO VIC, PRINCE and KELLY HANSOME. They all performed songs specially dedicated to mothers.

Star Actress and Kidney Cancer awareness ambassador Juliet Ibrahim received her honor among other deserving women including Washington DC based fashion designer Afua Sam, Houston based movie writer and producer Susan Nwokedi, Africa Liaison at the City of Dallas Regina Onyeibe, Chief Lois Obiyo, Margaret Abu, Bose Ogundipe, Stella Iheme and Julie Hans. Others who could not be present include; Regina Askia, Valerie Kabeya and Maimah Karmo.

TAMMAE 2013 enjoyed various level of support from corporate organizations and individuals alike. Other highlights during the event included comedy by Don Manuel, Fashion Show by Studio D’Maxsi and raffle gifting with a star prize of a travel ticket donated by Arik Air. A presntation on domestic violence was rendered by Miss Deborah Amali.

Actor and comedian Chris Tucker will host the BET Awards 2013 on Sunday, June 30 at the Nokia Theater L.A. Live in Los Angeles. Considered as one of television’s number one entertainment award show, the annual BET Awards, which started in 2001, has boasted several unforgettable moments and show stopping performances and appearances such as Michael Jackson’s surprise appearance during James Brown’s tribute; the late Rick James in his final duet with Teena Marie and the celebration of 25 years of hip-hop with legends Sugar Hill Gang, Slick Rick and Public Enemy.

Airing live from the Nokia Theater at 8 pm ET, the show will honor celebrities in the areas of music, acting and sports, as well as feature more all-star performances and presentations.

Tucker, who commanded Hollywood’s attention as the highest paid actor during his blockbuster “Rush Hour” film series and was last seen in the Oscar-nominated film “Silver Linings Playbook” will host the telecast, which will include special performances by iconic recording artists The Jacksons, along with R. Kelly, New Edition, Erykah Badu, The Roots & Friends and a gospel showcase with headliner Kirk Franklin.

Dallas – President Barack Obama and first Lady Michelle Obama arrived Dallas Love field Airport ahead of the formal opening of the George W. Bush Presidential Center on the SMU campus. President Obama will be joining other living US Presidents including host; George W. Bush, George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter.

Thousands of dignitaries – including former Bush staffers such as former Commerce Secretary Don Evans, former national security adviser and Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, former Ambassador Tom Schieffer of Fort Worth and former Education Secretary Margaret Spellings – are expected to attend today’s dedication for the 226,560-square-foot, $250 million center on the edge of the Southern Methodist University campus.

While in Dallas, President attended a Democratic National Committee fund-raising dinner at 7:17 p.m. Wednesday with about 60 guests at the home of Democratic activist Naomi Aberly and her husband, hedge fund manager Larry Lebowitz. Tickets range from $10,000 to the maximum allowed, $32,400.

President Barack Obama is expected to visit West, Texas; the site of a deadly fertilizer explosion. He would deliver a speech at Baylor University in Waco Texas during a memorial service in honor of first responders who died in last weeks explosion.

Dallas – The couple celebrated their wedding at the Heights Baptist Church in Dallas. A grand reception at the Dallas Marriot Quorum attracted family, friends and well wishers whom filled up the grand ballroom to capacity.

The ceremonies had earlier commenced with a traditional engagement at the brides family home a day earlier. This is wishing the couple a happy married life.
