Exclusive Video: “Get Out” Sweeps AAFCA Awards

“Get Out,” “Girls Trip” were big winners at the 9th African American Film Critics Association awards held Wednesday in Hollywood. The group of elite black film critics heaped accolades to Jordan Peele’s directorial debut, which earned its star Daniel Kaluuya a best actor nod, a best director prize for Peele, best Screenplay and overall best film of 2017.

The horror-comedy film that explores racism in America was according to Box Office Mojo made with a budget of only $4.5 million and has grossed a massive $252,434,250 worldwide.

Trendy Africa’s Samantha Ofole-Prince caught up several stars on the red carpet at the annual award show, which also named “Girls Trip” best comedy, to find why these movie resonated so well with audiences.
