Blair Underwood: “I will come to Africa in a heartbeat!”

“Everyone who knows me, knows that I love Africa,” shares the actor who is best known for his portrayal of attorney Jonathan Rollins on the NBC legal drama “L.A. Law.” The NAACP Image Award winner recently added another accolade to his trophy pile with a NAFCA Award, which he received for best actor for his role in the film “Woman Thou Art Loosed.” Underwood has always shown support for events surrounding the African diaspora and recently performed a DNA test which he says revealed that his African ancestry comes from the Igbo ethnic group of West Africa. The actor made his Broadway debut in 2012 in a production of Tennessee Williams’ “A Streetcar Named Desire,” and was recently seen in the TV movie “The Trip to Bountiful,” opposite Cicely Tyson and Vanessa Williams. He will next be seen in the crime drama titled “Who Shot the Sheriff?” a film which also stars Kevin Hart and Jennifer Hudson.
