LGE 2011 is a multicultural event conceptualized by Trendy Africa Magazine and produced by Sketch 44 to create a platform for skilled head wrap sculptors to come together and compete for prizes and a trophy. The ultimate objective of LGE is to create a unique conduit for projecting the rich cultural values of Africa as well as to create a healthy avenue for the display of skills, products and services. La Femme Gele Extraordinaire” is designed to be an annual head wrap pageant attracting participants from several states and promoting African Culture and Heritage on a different pedestal.

In today’s African fashion world, the head wrap is seen as a glorious accessory sculptured to fit on beautiful heads like a crown. They come in all forms, shapes, colors and sizes to compliment the apparels; usually African outfits worn by the individual.

The team at Trendy Africa is poised at ensuring maximum entertainment and unique segments for each of the future LGE pageants. Statistically, a growing number of African and sub Continental Women compliment their attires with well sculptured and colorful head wraps. Top Texas fashion exponent Afrik Couture will be on hand to spice up the atmosphere with about 20 Afro centric designs from her stable while DJ Nana B and selected comedians would ensure no dull moment. LGE 2011 benefits SAD (speak up against domestic violence).

LGE 2011 will feature Liberian born pop artist Jodi who will also be making his first appearance in Dallas. Jodi has previously featured with Nigerian born Chelle.
