Beyoncé delivered the ultimate surprise end-of-year hat trick when she recently released a 14-track self-titled album featuring an unexpected guest; Nigerian writer Chimamanda Ngozi Adiche, whose latest novel “Americanah” is atop many year-end reading lists. Ngozi is on a track called “Flawless”.

The singer dropped the album on iTunes without any promotion, save for a 15-second Instagram video. And if that’s not enough, Beyoncé calls the project a “visual album”.
