Association of Nigerian Women Leaders in Diaspora 1st Anniversary Celebration

Rockville, MD – Association of Nigerian Women Leaders in Diaspora- ANWLD recently celebrated their 1st anniversary at a dinner and dance event in Rockville, Maryland. Special guests at the event included; Ambassador and Mrs. Adebowale Adefuye and Minister Odien Ajumogobia. National president of ANWLD Mrs. Rita Amachree in her keynote address, highlighted one of the groups objectives which is to build a center for women and child development in all states of Nigeria.

ANWLD intends to use the centers as a safe haven for women and children who do not have any recourse to assistance by providing all that is needed for their well being and integration back into society. ANWLD is a charitable organization enriched with professional Nigerian women in diaspora from different ethnic groups, who work in unity towards the empowerment of women and children of Nigerian heritage, resident in Nigeria and around the globe.
